Called to communion and committed to justice, the WCRC fosters church unity and coordinates common initiatives for mission, theological reflection and formation, church renewal, justice and dialogue.
The coordination for these efforts comes through the general secretariat, with its offices in Hannover, Germany.
The general secretary is the chief executive officer of the WCRC and is thus responsible to the general council and to the executive committee to direct and coordinate the work of the World Communion of Reformed Churches.
Along with the officers, executive committee and staff, the general secretary works with member churches and ecumenical partners to fulfil the goals of the WCRC mission and vision statement.
The WCRC is currently operating in an interim period under a Collegial General Secretariat, composed of the three executive secretaries: Hanns Lessing (Evangelical Church of Westphalia), Philip Vinod Peacock (Church of North India), and Phil Tanis (Reformed Church in America).
The general secretariat also oversees the organization’s finances and communications, including the coordination of member church prayer requests.
