Cevaa is holding its General Assembly in Douala, Cameroon, this week. Cevaa is a Community of Protestant Churches in Mission, created in 1971 in Paris. It currently includes 35 Protestant churches in 24 countries in Africa, Latin America, Europe, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific. Read More

The Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, II, Stated Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) calls for bold action in response to a new United Nations report on climate change. According to a U.N. international panel, earth’s atmosphere could warm by as much as 2.7 degrees Fahrenheit above preindustrial levels in the next 12 years. Read More

The National Council of Churches in India and the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of India have announced Dalit Liberation Sunday will be 11 November. The special Sunday has received increased response and support over the years in sensitizing local congregations towards concerns of Dalits, and helping people to see that the caste issue is no longer visualized as purely a sociological issue or an issue outside the purview of church but as an issue challenging the core of faith and gospel.
