The Evangelical Church of Rio de la Plata and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church sent a letter of solidarity to the Reformed Churches in Argentina following an attack suffered by the community of Quilmes on Sunday 23, when their building was first robbed and then damaged. The church has an intense work of solidarity aid and commitment to human rights and with the most vulnerable people in society.

This coming Sunday, 6 June, has been designated as “Pray for Samoa” day for the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (CCCAS) / Ekalesia Faapotopotoga Kerisiano i Amerika Samoa (EFKAS).

Response to Discovery of Remains: In memory of the 215 Indigenous children found in unmarked graves at a residential school in Canada, the Christian Reformed Church in North America is calling for prayer and Indigenous Ministries and Justice at The United Church of Canada has issued a statement of mourning and offer of support.

Almost eight months after the explosion in the port of Beirut and almost six months after her last visit, Tabea Stalder, HEKS program officer for church cooperation in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, has returned to Lebanon. In her personal report, she describes how the local church partners help those in need with the support of HEKS (the aid organization of the Protestant Church of Switzerland).

Presbyterian and Evangelical partners in Southern Europe gathered virtually to discuss mutual ministry. Presentations of creative ministry and advocacy within each individual context were shared from Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

The World Council of Churches and Council for World Mission are organizing a virtual ecumenical event “Anti-racist in Christ?” Ecumenical Christian Repentance, Reflection and Action on Racial Discrimination and Xenophobia” from 14-17 June.

Latin American countries wrestle with injustices exacerbated by rising wave of COVID-19. A World Council of Churches online consultation brought together different perceptions on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of several strategic areas of the current context in Latin America.

A collection of documents and publications from the World Council of Churches is now available through its longstanding partner organization Globethics.net. The WCC collection, updated weekly, reflects a growing and longstanding electronic bridge between the organizations’ websites.
